Number 1!!!

Ed and I officially made it through our first year of marriage today. YAY!!! You know it has been a great year too. We've had lots of stuff happen. For starters we became parents to our beautiful baby girl on April 7th. Second Ed went through the Utah College of Massage Therapy and is officially a Licensed Massage Therapist. I managed to work up until 2 weeks before I had Naomi to put him through that school. And now we're both working full time and rarely see each other, but through it all we've never had a fight or anything.

Today was awesome though. We both took the day off and slept in. Funny how sleeping in for me is until 7:30-8 and sleeping in for Ed is until 10 or 11. But hey, it was nice. Naomi and I made daddy breakfast (8 egg omelet, hash browns and bacon), then we got all ready for the day and Naomi went to play with Aunt Roxanne and her cousins Mikey and Allison. After we dropped Naomi off Ed went and picked up his paycheck at work and then we were off for a fun filled day.

I blindfolded Ed and got him all lost as to his surroundings and then I drove us downtown to The Leonardo where we walked through the Body Worlds 3 Story of the Heart Exhibition. It was absolutely AMAZING! Ed liked the man who was split in 3 from the waist up. I think my favorite though was the fetus' in different stages. They had different vials that showed from 1 week up to the end of the 8th week. The first week fetus looked like just a speck of fuzz in the jar, but it was amazing to see just how fast those babies grow. For example they had one that showed the fetus in the middle of week 6 and by the beginning of week 7 the baby went from little stubs for arms to being able to see full arms and hands. Granted they were tiny but still. And by week 8 you can see the eyes and little fingers and toes and everything. And its no bigger than maybe a tube of chap stick. Then they also had 6 cases with babies from week 21 through week 32. And it is just amazing how much difference there is in just that short time.

I don't know why that specific one stood out so much to me. Maybe its because I just had our daughter and it put the pregnancy into perspective for me, but it was truly AMAZING. I encourage all of you to go check this exhibit out before they leave in January. It's expensive to go but it is so worth it. You see everything from muscles, to the nervous system to the brain, and all the organs and everything. Even organs that have tumors and lungs of a smoker compared to a non smoker and everything.

Anyway, moving on....after we walked through that we walked up the curved stairs to the top of the library and then Ed was tired so we rode the elevators back down. And then we went to Baskin Robins for and ice cream cone. And after that we came home and Ed gave me a little massage and I took a short nap. And then we walked around the corner to the Jasmine restaurant where we had dinner. And may I just say that that place has wonderful service and DELICIOUS food. You all should try it sometime too. Its Chinese Bistro and Sushi Bar. Mmm Mmm Mmm! (Oh and Fried Ice Cream really is good Michelle)

So that was our day. It was a nice break from our normal work week. Which if you know our schedule its crazy with me working from 6 in the morning til 2 and then coming home so Ed can walk out and go to work til 10:30 at night. So yeah I'd just thought I'd share our day. I took a pic of Ed in his blindfold before I took it off. So I'll post that tomorrow. I've got to go jump in bed cause I'm going to die at work tomorrow.

Later!

My thoughts

So I was thinking I should come on and post again since it has been a week. I had to let Naomi post first though. She loves the keyboard now. Well this week hasn't been all that interesting to tell the truth. Its been full of work and little sleep. But what else is new. Actually work has been pretty annoying. They've had me on a new hall all week and I just want to go back to the one I'm usually on.

I'm disappointed in myself too. I had a goal to workout every day and also to do good eating but I totally slacked and gained back all the pounds I've lost so far. I was either too tired or the baby was too cranky to allow me to workout and I just did a bunch of emotional eating. I guess I'll try again this next week. But I'm pretty sure I'm just going to be a fat oinker the rest of my life. This child doesn't let me do anything anymore. Heck it takes me 3 days to get just my dishes done. And I only get to shave once a week. So I dunno how I'm going to do it, but I'll try.

So yeah that's really about it. I just spent 200 getting my windshield replaced and my safety and emissions done. Although I didn't pass safety cause I guess my e-brake is loose and I need new wipers. But once I get those done then I can shell out another 89 to get my car registered. You know what's pissing me off too? My stupid work hasn't started my raise yet. Chris is going to get a talking to on Monday cause I really need that money. I've got so many bills to pay and nowhere near enough money to pay even half of them.

Oh the joys of adulthood....

Last Sunday of Summer

So today was a fairly good day. Church started at 1pm today so I actually got to sleep in past 630. Woohoo! Today Ed and I spoke on forgiveness at church. The talks went surprisingly well. I didn't talk too fast or lock my knees or anything. Now I just need to look up more. But that will come in time. I think it will help as I bear my testimony more often, which is also a goal of mine.

Anyway, yeah, it went pretty good. After church we hung out for a little bit and then took a nice walk over to the Lowe's for dinner. It was delicious! And best part was I didn't even have to cook. Ed loved the spice cake, well all the food actually. Poor guy, I don't cook for him as well as I used to before the baby. Or at least not as nice of meals. I should do better now that Naomi is getting a little older. It's just so hard since he doesn't even get home til 10pm or later most nights. I guess maybe for Saturday or Sunday nights.

Moving on...it was a really nice time getting out and getting to know the Lowe's better. Bro Lowe played the piano with Naomi and then he showed us his video game he made and Ed had fun with that. He also now wants a game/theater room someday. Which is fine by me when we have a house and money to do it. But that is quite a way down the road at the rate we are going.

Well that's about it here. Not a whole lot happening today. Naomi went to be nice and early so I got to have a few min of quiet before I head off to bed.

Another weekend over and another week begins...we'll see how it all turns out. But for now, goodnight!

Saturday Ramblings

Well it was amazing to sleep in past 4:30. The baby actually didn't wake up til 8, although I was up earlier cutting Ed's hair for him. It's so fun being here when Naomi wakes up. She's such a happy baby in the morning. I was making Banana Nut Muffins and I heard her talking in her room. So I went in and sure enough she was just looking around and talking to herself. I got her up, changed her and fed her, and she's just been so cuddly and talky today. It's so cute! Usually by the time I get her in the afternoon she is tired and grumpy, so it's a nice change.

Anyway, we'll see how the day progresses. I really need to go workout after I finish this. Then I need to clean the house a little and work on my talk for church tomorrow. I haven't even begun to start it yet. It's on forgiveness. Good news is that Ed talks after me so he can clean up the mess I do. OH, and I need to go to the store. AND I've got a wedding to go to at 4. It's already half past 9 so I better get cracking. I just thought I'd check in this morning. I actually don't think anyone knows I have a blog so no one will read this but oh well. It actually is kinda nice to be able to rant and rave and have no one stop you.

Well I hope you all have a great day and I'll catch you later.

I've succumed...

I'm officially a blogger now. After much fighting I've decided why the heck not. So beware everyone...I'm now in your world! *evil laugh*

Anyway, I don't have much to say right now. I just woke up from a 3 hour nap that was much needed after a VERY LONG week of working and caring for a 5 month old. So needless to say I'm still a little out of it.

Well, I will post more later as well as pics. Just as soon as I figure out all the in's and out's of this whole blogging thing.

Later!
